April is National Poetry Month

PoetryGift.com

National Poetry Month is a fairly new concept. The month of April was deemed National Poetry Month only 14 years ago, in 1996, by the Academy of American Poets. If you enjoy writing, reading or listening to poetry, chances are there will be a few events in your community this month.

Libraries, literary organizations and communities come together to celebrate poets and their poems. Take a look at your local library, grocery stores and community centers and you will see posters celebrating this great event. April was chosen as National Poetry Month because kids are still in school and our teachers can help spread the word.

We at PoetryGift.com have made a pledge to help poets display their poems in a unique way. We offer a service that may interest you. If you have written a poem that you are proud of or you would like to share with someone, we can design, personalize and frame it for you.

It has been said that poetry is the most sincere form of flattery. So show someone how much you care about them, by writing them a poem.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@poetrygift.com.
